Why order this 1 oz Gold 2020 $50 Canada Maple Leaf?
Share in the rich tradition of the Gold Maple Leaf with this 2020 edition. The series dates back to 1979, when it was first struck from .999 fine gold. In November of 1982, the Royal Canadian Mint increased the purity of the series to .9999 fine, which remains the 'gold standard' for global bullion today, though few gold coins are as pure. Today, the series is also known for its security, as radial lines and microengravings on a maple leaf privy make coins in the series virtually impossible to counterfeit. This piece was struck from 1 oz of gold.
Featuring the Traditional Maple Leaf Design
Susanna Blunt's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II appears at the center of the reverse, where it has been on coins in this series since 2005. Unlike depictions of the monarch on coins from other countries and territories, this one shows her with neither a crown nor a tiara on her head. She does, however, wear earrings and a necklace. Her shoulders are open to the holder as she faces right. Her name, "ELIZABETH II," is inscribed along the rim above the image, while the coin's face value, "50 DOLLARS," and date, "2020," are inscribed below it.
The reverse features an ornately detailed sugar maple leaf. The fine detail of the design almost makes the holder feel as though he is picking up a leaf during a hike on a brisk autumn day. To the right of the stem is the maple leaf privy. The coin's purity, "9999," is noted to the left and right of the main design. Its country, "CANADA," is inscribed along the rim at the top. The bottom half of the rim bears an inscription of the coin's weight in Canada's two native languages, English and French. It reads, "FINE GOLD 1 OZ OR PUR."

It also includes First Releases certification, which means that the coin was submitted to NGC for grading within 30 days of its release from the mint.
