The coat of arms of Barbados dominates the obverse. It consists of a shield with an armor helmet crest. The shield features a fig tree and two Red Pride flowers. It is supported by a dolphin and a pelican. Below is a scroll with the motto "PRIDE AND INDUSTRY." Clockwise starting on the left, rim inscriptions offer the coin's weight and purity, "1 OZ AG 999," its country, "BARBADOS," its face value, "5 DOLLARS," and its date, "2020."
The reverse is centered on a colorized silhouette of North America. Along the rim are the animals that are featured in the collection. These are a beaver, a buffalo, an eagle, a grizzly, a moose, an orca, and a wolf. The name of the series, "SHAPES OF AMERICA," is inscribed along the rim at the top.
