Stunning Two Dragons Design by Neil Hollis
A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by British Royal Mint designer Jody Clark graces the obverse. The monarch, who is shown down to her shoulders, dons earrings and a necklace. On her head is her Royal Diamond Diadem. The monarch's name, "ELIZABETH II," is at the top of this face. Below her name are the name of the issuing country, "AUSTRALIA," and the coin's weight and purity, "1 OZ 9999 AG." Additional inscriptions under the portrait offer the coin's face value, "1 DOLLAR," and its date, "2020."
On the reverse is a design by Neil Hollis. Two dragons chase a flaming pearl. This is a common theme from Chinese culture. Unlike in Western culture, dragons are revered. They represent strength, wealth, and power. A flaming pearl is considered a symbol of prosperity, truth, and wisdom.
