This tribute to the Adelaide Pound produced by the Perth Mint, features an exact replication of the Type I pound design, of which less than fifty were minted! The 2020 dated proof coin is struck from 3/4 Troy oz. of .9167 fine gold, surrounded by a ring of 3/4 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver. Mintage is limited to just 300 pieces.
Handsome Commemorative Design
The gold Adelaide Pound replica is centered on the reverse, depicting a crown and the date "1852," surrounded by the inscription "GOVERNMENT ASSAY OFFICE ADELAIDE." The image is encircled by a silver frame inscribed with "ADELAIDE POUND" and "2020," with the Mint mark "P" above the date.
"VALUE ONE POUND," "22 CARATS," and "WEIGHT 5 DWT: 15 GRS" are inscribed on the obverse gold center in the original Adelaide Pound configuration, surrounded by a silver ring containing Jody Clark's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA" and "75 DOLLARS."
