Why add this 2020 $1 American 1 oz Silver Eagle to your collection?

Collectors of American Silver Eagles got a treat in recent years with the discovery that the US Mint has been striking the coins at multiple facilities. This discovery added variety to a relatively stable series. Now in its 35th year, the series continues to lead the world in terms of mintage and demand. This piece was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Like all Silver Eagles, it was struck on a 1 oz planchet of .999 fine silver.

Featuring the Historic Walking Liberty Design of Adolph Weinman

The coin's obverse features the Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman that featured on America's half dollars from 1916-1947. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap, which indicates that someone is a freed slave, and is draped in the American flag. She carries laurel and oak branches, symbols of civilian honors and military ones, respectively, as she strides toward the left side of the coin. She extends her right hand forward above the morning sun as it begins to emerge from beyond the horizon. Inscriptions on this face include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2020."

On the reverse is an adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States by John Mercanti. An eagle guards a union shield under an arrangement of thirteen stars, symbols of the nation's first states. The bird holds a ribbon with the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak and arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The arrows remind all that America is prepared to defend her values, while the olive branch expresses a preference for peace. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" are inscribed along the rim.

Virtually Flawless MS69 FS with Flag Label
