Why order this 2019-W American Silver Eagle Proof?
The 2019-W Proof Silver Eagle was first put on sale on January 10. At the time, the FUN Show was going on in Orlando, Florida, and the U.S Mint was selling these coins at their booth. Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) agreed to make the show a fourth location designation, adding to Denver, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC, thus giving collectors the chance to add even more variety to their collections. An MCM exclusive, just 250 of these coins in this label and designation are available. Each one was struck on a 1 oz planchet of .999 fine silver at the West Point Mint and bears that mint's "W" mint mark on the reverse.
Treasured Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman
Continuing in the rich tradition of this series, the obverse bears Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty design, which was first struck onto half dollars. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap and is draped in an American flag as she carries laurel and oak branches, which represent civilian and military honors, respectively. She extends her right hand in front of her above the morning sun, as though presenting the new day to the holder. Inscriptions on t his face include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2019."
The reverse design was adapted from the Great Seal of the United States by John Mercanti. An eagle holds a ribbon that bears the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (From many, one) in its beak while guarding a union shield. In its talons, the bird clutches arrows, symbols of America's willingness to defend her values, and an olive branch, which represents peace. Thirteen stars, one for each of the original states, are arranged above the bird's head. Rim inscriptions read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR."
Flawless PF70 UC First Day - Fun Show with Black Core Holder and Mercanti Signed Label
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified this coin First Day, which indicates that it was submitted to them through an exclusive process. The prestigious grading company also awarded the coin their highest grade, Proof 70, which means that it appears perfect even as seen under 5x magnification. NGC further certified the piece Ultra Cameo, thus indicating that both of its faces bear sharp contrasts between heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields. This information comes on a label that was signed by John Mercanti, and the coin has been set in a sleek black core.
