Why buy this Proof 2019-W American Silver Eagle?
The Silver Eagle series dates back to 1986. In the three-plus decades since, the Silver Eagle bullion coin has become the most popular in the world, and its proof counterparts have given collectors a unique way to look at its stunning designs. This 2019-W edition gives you the chance to own the latest issue in a rich tradition. It was struck from one ounce of .999 fine silver and bears the West Point Mint's "W" mint mark on the reverse.
Stunning Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman
The Silver Eagle takes its obverse design from Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty half dollar. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap as a symbol of her freedom and is draped in the American flag. She carries laurel and oak branches in her left hand while extending her right hand in front of her, as though greeting the morning sun, which rises from beyond the horizon. The branches are traditional symbols of honors bestowed upon civilians and military members, respectively.
On the reverse is an adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States by John Mercanti. Thirteen stars are arranged in a triangular formation at the top. Below, an eagle guards a union shield while clutching arrows and an olive branch. The olive branch indicates a preference for peace, while the arrows are a reminder that America is willing to defend her values when necessary. Rim inscriptions encircle the design.
Impeccable PF70 UC ER
This coin received Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC's) highest grade, Proof 70, which means that it is in perfect condition as seen under 5x magnification. NGC also certified it Ultra Cameo due to the sharp contrasts between its deeply mirrored fields and heavily frosted devices and Early Releases, which means that NGC received it for grading not more than 30 days after its initial release from the mint.
