Why buy this 2019-W $100 High Relief 1 oz Gold Specimen American Liberty?
The 2019-W American Liberty continues a rich but young tradition that offers some refreshing new looks at a traditional motif. Struck in high relief with an enhanced uncirculated finish, this issue combines outstanding modern minting techniques and vibrant designs with a mintage of just 50,000 pieces. It was struck on a 1 oz planchet of .9999 fine gold at the West Point Mint, which is represented by its "W" mint mark on the obverse.
Exquisite Liberty Design by Richard Masters
The obverse features a breathtaking Liberty design that was created by Richard Masters and sculpted by Joseph Menna. Reminiscent of what is widely considered among the most beautiful designs in the rich history of American numismatics, Augustus Saint-Gaudens's $10 Indian, it features a young Liberty donning a headdress from which thirteen rays of light emanate. They represent the freedom and creativity of the American people. The original states are represented by thirteen stars along the rim. Also on the rim are the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," while the date, "2019," joins the mint mark in the lower right.
The reverse bears an eagle design by Donna Weaver. It was sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. The eagle is depicted as it prepares to land. Thanks to the high relief and enhanced finish, this piece offers one of the closest and most realistic looks at America's national bird ever seen on a US Mint product. Just under the bird's head are the inscriptions "$100" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" spreads throughout the right side of the rim, and "1 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD" is inscribed just inside it.
Stunning SP70 Enhanced Finish FR
This piece earned Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC's) highest grade, Specimen 70, "Specimen" indicates that the finish is a hybrid between a business strike and a proof, while "70" means that it appears flawless even under 5x magnification. It was also certified Enhanced Finish, making this piece extra special. Finally, NGC certified the piece First Releases, which means that it was submitted for grading no more than 30 days after its original release from the mint.

When it comes to modern U.S. coins, rarity as defined solely by a coin’s mintage usually matters less than the rarity of a particular coin relative to the other coins in its series.
Here are arguably the five top examples of modern U.S coins that are likely to remain in demand indefinitely and in most cases may remain the key date coins within their respective series.
