Why add this (Idaho) 2019-W 25C Clad River of No Return Wilderness Quarter to your collection?
This Idaho River of No Return Wildness Quarter is a special piece for several reasons. It is part of the 50th edition of the America the Beautiful Quarters Series and is the fifth and final issue of 2019. It is also the only ATB issue of the year to focus on America's natural beauty rather than having a historical theme. Perhaps most significant, though, is the fact that it is one of the first ten million quarters struck for circulation to bear the West Point Mint's "W" mint mark. All ten million pieces - two million of each 2019 ATB quarter - were released directly into circulation, with not a single coin reserved for collectors. This set collectors throughout the nation on a coin hunt.
Marvelous Boating Design by Emily Damstra
A left-side portrait of President George Washington by John Flanagan serves as the obverse design. The effigy has been appearing on American quarters for nearly nine decades. It is flanked by a pair of statutory inscriptions, "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." Inscriptions on the rim read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," which is at the top, and "QUARTER DOLLAR," which is on the bottom.
Renata Gordon sculpted Emily Damstra's reverse design. The image shows a man enjoying the Idaho wilderness on his boat. He is afloat on a rushing river with trees and rock formations rising around him. The name of the park from which the image is taken, "RIVER OF NO RETURN WILDERNESS," is inscribed at the top. Most of the inscription is on the rim frame, but the last word is in the design area. Inscriptions on the bottom half of the frame read, from left to right, "IDAHO," "2019," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
Beautifully Preserved MS66 FR with West Point Star Label
The experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this coin is in Mint State 66 condition. That means that it was very well struck. This grade is quite high given that all of these coins were released directly into circulation. NGC also certified the coin First Releases due to the fact that it was submitted to them no more than 30 days after its initial release from the mint. Grading information comes provided on a label that bears a West Point Star.
