Why order this (Idaho) 2019-W 25C Clad River of No Return Wilderness Quarter?
Collectors and non-collectors alike are on a national coin hunt created by the US Mint in 2019. For the first time ever, the mint struck quarters with the West Point Mint's "W" mint mark for circulation. Ten million pieces - two million of each of the 2019 America the Beautiful issues - were struck with the mint mark, and all of them were released directly into circulation. Accordingly, this Mint State 64 piece is in relatively good condition. This River of No Return Wilderness Quarter is the 50th overall edition in the America the Beautiful Series, and it is the only 2019 issue to feature an outdoors rather than historical theme.
Featuring an Exquisite River Design by Emily Damstra
The coin's obverse design is the same one that appears on all quarters in this series, John Flanagan's portrait of President George Washington. American quarters have borne the design since it first appeared on them in 1932. The coin's country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and face value, "QUARTER DOLLAR," are inscribed above and below the portrait on the rim, respectively, while "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST" are to the left and right of it.
A man enjoys the great outdoors in Emily Damstra's reverse design, which was sculpted by Renata Gordon. The man pilots a drift boat on a river that rushes through stunning natural scenery of trees and rock formations. The inscription at the top, which is limited to the rim frame on most coins in this series but extends into the design area itself on this piece, reads, "RIVER OF NO RETURN WILDERNESS." The name of the state in which the park is situated, "IDAHO," joins the date, "2019," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" on the bottom half of the rim frame.
Uncirculated MS64 FR with West Point Star Label
The West Point Star features on the label on which Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) provided its grading information. That information includes a Mint State 64 grade and First Releases certification. A coin must have an average or better strike and show no traces of wear to receive an Mint State 64 grade. First Releases certification is given to coins that were submitted for grading within 30 days of their initial releases from the mint.
