Why Add This GEM 2019-W 1/4 oz. Proof Gold Eagle in Original Packaging to Your Collection?
In 1986, the U.S. Mint introduced a series of 22 karat gold bullion coins. Today, the American Gold Eagle is a popular choice among collectors and stackers around the world. The burnished and proof versions are minted just for collectors. This 2019-W 1/4 oz. Gold Eagle has a proof finish and was struck at the West Point Mint.
Impressively Detailed Liberty Obverse and Bald Eagle Reverse
The sun's rays can be seen clearly in the background of the obverse. The Capitol building is pictured here as well. The central portion of the design shows Liberty with her hair and gown flowing in the breeze. The date and Mint mark are just to the right of Liberty.
A number of inscriptions are displayed on the reverse. This design is by Miley Busiek. A family of bald eagles can be seen here. Most of the family is already in the nest, one of the adults has just returned.
GEM Proof in OGP
This 1/4 oz. proof Gold Eagle is still in its original government packaging. In this case, that includes a display box with a certificate of authenticity. The coin itself is in GEM Proof condition, just like when it left the U.S. Mint.
