Why add this 2-Coin 2019 Pride of Two Nations United States and Canada 1 oz Silver Eagle & Maple Leaf Set to your collection?
Now Sold out at the Mint! Collectors are in for a treat with this Pride of Two Nations Two-coin Set. The set is the first ever joint issue of the US Mint and the royal Canadian Mint. Fittingly, it consists of firsts in both series. The Silver Eagle has an enhanced reverse proof finish, while the Maple Leaf has a modified proof finish. The former was struck from .999 fine silver and bears the "W" mint mark of the West Point Mint, while the latter is .9999 fine. Just 110,000 of these sets were issued, which means that many collectors will miss out on this remarkable issue.
Patriotic Walking Liberty and Maple Leaf Designs
Both of the coins in this set feature their iconic designs, which are well known to collectors. Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty features on the Silver Eagle's obverse. Liberty carries laurel and oak branches, which represent civilian and military honors, respectively, in her left hand and extends her right hand in front of her above the morning sun. On the reverse, an eagle guards a union shield under thirteen stars. That image is the work of John Mercanti.
A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt serves as the obverse design of the Maple Leaf. Blunt shows the monarch wearing earrings and a necklace but no crown or tiara. Rim inscriptions read, "ELIZABETH II," "5 DOLLARS," and "2019." The reverse features a single Maple Leaf that is rendered in intricate detail. "9999," the coin's purity, is inscribed to either side of it. The coin's country, "CANADA," is inscribed above, while its weight is included in both English and French below, reading, "FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR." The Maple Leaf's designs are set against a striped background, while the rims bear patterns of stars and maple leafs.
Virtually Flawless PF69 ER with Pride of Two Nations Labels
