NBA All-Star Trae Young

Trae Young was born on September 19, 1998 to Candice and Rayford Young in Lubbock, Texas. His father played basketball professionally outside of the United States and athletic skills seem to run in the family. Many professional athletes really start to come into their own during their high school years and this was especially true for Trae Young. He actually didn't play basketball his freshman year, but that didn't stop him from averaging 25 points per game as a sophomore. That's an impressive figure, but as a senior Young averaged an incredible 42.6 points per game.

With college offers aplenty as one of the nation's top prospects, Young settled on the University of Oklahoma where it didn't take long for Young to make a big impression at this level. He finished his freshman season leading the country in numerous stats and was firmly expected to be a top draft pick. In the 2018 NBA draft Young was the fifth pick overall in the first round and was selected by the Dallas Mavericks. He was traded to the Atlanta Hawks and has played for them since.
