Why buy this 1 oz Gold 2019 South Africa Krugerrand - Big 5 Lion Privy Proof?
The Gold Krugerrand is the grandfather of modern bullion, respected and collected around the world. It has been struck since 1967, nearly two decades before America's first Gold Eagle. Now, the series has an exciting new issue with this Big 5 Lion Privy. The proud creature inspires both awe and fear in those who come across it. Struck at the South African Mint from 1 oz of .9167 fine gold, this coin is part of a mintage of just 100 pieces.
Classic Springbok Design by Coert Steynberg
The obverse features a left-side portrait of Paul Kruger by Otto Schultz. The third President of the South African republic, Kruger is loved by some and hated by others, but his stature as an important figure in the issuing country's history is beyond dispute. Arching over him are the name of the issuing country in Afrikaans, "SUID-AFRIKA," and English, "SOUTH AFRICA."
Coert Steynberg's reverse design shows a springbok from the right. The graceful creature is shown bounding across grasslands. A lion privy shows the king of beasts in left-side profile. The date, "2019," is split to either side of the springbok, while the name of the coin, "KRUGERRAND," arches over it. At the bottom, the weight of the coin is shown in Afrikaans and English, "FYNGOUD 1 OZ FINE GOLD."
Flawless PF70 UC FDI with Tumi Signature Label

They also certified it Ultra Cameo because of its heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields. Finally, they labeled it First Day of Issue, thus indicating that it was submitted to them through an exclusive process. Managing Director of the South African Mint Tumi Tsehlo signed the label on which this information is provided.
