Uniquely American Designs
The obverse of this half dollar is inscribed with the date, "LIBERTY," and "I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG." This design shows a pair of children standing next to each other. Each one has a hand on their chest as they recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
The reverse continues the words from the obverse with "OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." The upper portion shows the American Legion logo and the central portion shows a United States flag at the top of a pole.

Since this clad commemorative was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) during its first 30 days of availability, it was given the First Releases designation. The grade of Proof 70 and the Ultra Cameo designation indicate that this specimen is completely free of flaws and it has great visual contrast.
