Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this remarkable 2019-S American Innovation Commemorative Clad Dollar Reverse Proof Delaware $1 Coin at the flawless Proof 70 (PF70) level. It earned the First Day of Issue (FDI) designation which is clearly marked on the MCM exclusive American Innovations Label. The clad coin was struck at the U.S. Mint's San Francisco branch. The first coin in the American Innovations series was released in 2018. The series will continue through 2032, highlighting innovations from each state and the 6 U.S. territories.
Noted Female Astronomer on the Reverse
Astronomer Annie Jump Cannon, co-developer of the Harvard Stellar Classification Scheme is featured on the reverse. Her stylized profile is presented against the night sky with the inscriptions "Classifying the Stars" and "Delaware."
