Why order this 2019-S American 1 oz Silver Eagle Proof?
The Silver Eagle has remained a favorite of collectors since its debut in 1986. One reason for this is its stunning designs, including an American numismatic classic. The bullion coin's proof counterpart is perfect for collectors who love the designs and want to enjoy them with a special finish. This piece bears the "S" mint mark of the San Francisco Mint. It was struck there on a 1 oz .999 fine silver planchet.
Featuring Adolph Weinman's Iconic Walking Liberty Design
The coin's obverse bears the design that Adolph Weinman created for the half dollar. It features Liberty carrying laurel and oak branches, which represent civilian and military honors, respectively, as she strides toward the left side of the coin. Draped in the American flag and wearing a Phrygian cap, she extends her right hand above the morning sun, as if presenting the new day to the holder. Inscriptions on this face read, "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2019."
On the reverse is an adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States by John Mercanti. At the center is a union shield, which is guarded by an eagle. The eagle holds a ribbon with the words "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak while clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The arrows represent America's willingness to defend herself, while the olive branch expresses a desire for peace. Above are thirteen stars, symbols of the original states. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" are inscribed along the rim.
Virtually Flawless PF69 UC ER with Black Core Holder and San Francisco Cable Car Label
The experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this coin is in Proof 69 condition, which means that it appears perfect to the naked eye. They also indicated that it is Ultra Cameo and Early Releases. Ultra Cameo coins are proofs with deeply mirrored fields and heavily frosted devices, while Early Releases pieces were submitted for grading within 30 days of their initial releases from the mint. This information comes on a label that features one of San Francisco's famous Cable Cars, and the coin comes set in a sleek black core.
