Why purchase this 1 oz. Silver RWF 2019 50 Franc Rwanda African Ounce Shoebill Proof?
Collectors looking to diversify their collections with coins that feature wildlife are sure to love this 2019 Silver Shoebill Proof. The coin is the latest edition in the Rwandan Wildlife Series, which dates back to 2008. Like other coins in the series, this coin was struck from one ounce of .999 fine silver at the Mayer Mint, which is located in Munich, Germany. The coin will arrive in GEM Proof condition.
Striking Shoebill Design
Part of the obverse, a geographic map of Africa, matches those of previous releases in the series. As with the other releases, the animal honored by the coin features in the lower left. The birds are shown at different angles, with one in left-side profile and the other facing just to the right of the holder. This gives the holder the opportunity to examine the creature in detail. "AFRICAN WILDLIFE," "2019," and "1 OZ FINE SILVER 999" are inscribed along the rim.
The reverse features the official Seal of Rwanda. This consists of a variety of tribal devices mounted upon a cogwheel, as well as a pair of ribbons. Both of the ribbons bear inscriptions in Kinyarwanda. The inscription at the top means "Republic of Rwanda," while the one at the bottom translates to "UNITY, WORK, PATRIOTISM." The face value of the coin is provided at the bottom.
