Why order this 2-Coin 2019-P+W Apollo 11 50th Anniversary $1 Coin + Silver Eagle Set?

Share in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of one of mankind's greatest achievements with this two coin set. The set consists of an Apollo 11 Silver Dollar, which was issued to mark the 50th anniversary of man's first walk on the moon, and an American Silver Eagle, the world's favorite bullion coin. The commemorative dollar bears the "P" mint mark of the Philadelphia Mint, where it was struck from 26.73 g of .999 fine silver, while the American Silver Eagle bears the West Point Mint's "W" mint mark. It was struck there from 1 oz of .999 fine silver.

Poignant Lunar Footprint Design by Gary Cooper

Gary Cooper designed and Joe Menna sculpted the obverse of the Apollo 11 commemorative. It consists of the names of the three NASA programs that led up to the moon landing, "MERCURY," "GEMINI," and "APOLLO," arching over a single footprint on the surface of the moon. Phebe Hemphill's design depicts Neil Armstrong standing on the moon between the American flag and the lunar module as reflected in the visor of Buzz Aldrin's space helmet.

The obverse of the Silver Eagle features Adolph Weinman's iconic Walking Liberty design, which graced the obverse of the half dollar decades before its revival for the Silver Eagle series. On the coin's reverse, an eagle guards a union shield while clutching arrows and an olive branch under an arrangement of thirteen stars. The design is an adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States by John Mercanti.

Impeccable PF70 ER with Moon Core Holders and Moon Labels

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) set both of these coins in core holders that look like the surface of the moon and provided grading information on labels that bear a single footprint on the lunar surface. NGC graded both coins Proof 70, which indicates that they are flawless as seen under 5x magnification, and certified them Early Releases, meaning that they were submitted for grading within 30 days following their initial releases from the mint.
