The successful Apollo 11 Mission and the landing of the first men on the Moon was a distinctly American triumph. Although the bulk of the credit rightfully goes to the nation behind the mission, other countries also made extremely valuable – and often overlooked – contributions to it.
The Perth Mint is releasing five coins to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, and Australia’s essential, although often overlooked, role in this historic event.
The theme for the 2019 National Coin Week taking place April 21st to April 27th, is “Discover the Past, Envision the future.” and is being supported by the Great American Coin Hunt and the U.S Mint's release of the first ever W mint marked quarters into circulation.
