Why order this 5 oz. Silver 2019-P Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Dollar Proof?

This 5 oz. Proof Silver Dollar Apollo 11 Commemorative is perfect for patriotic collectors, as well as those with a pioneering spirit. The coin is one of seven issued to mark the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest accomplishments in human, and American, history: man's first landing on the moon. The seminal event in space exploration, the landing was not just an achievement in terms of science and technology, but also America's marquis victory in the Cold War's space race. This coin was struck from five ounces of .999 fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint and bears that mint's "P" mint mark on the obverse. It is part of a mintage of 100,000 pieces.

Exquisite Lunar Surface Designs

Both faces of the coin feature designs from man's first visit to the moon. On the obverse is Gary Cooper's footprint design, which was sculpted by Joseph Menna. It features a single footprint that symbolizes Neil Armstrong's small step for man and giant leap for mankind. Arching over the image are the names of the three NASA programs that made the moon landing possible, "MERCURY," "GEMINI," and "APOLLO." They are interspersed among images of the moon in different phase. The national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "2019," are among the other inscriptions on this face.

Phebe Hemphill designed and engraved the reverse. This face is convex to make it appear similar to the helmet of Buzz Aldrin's spacesuit, which dominates this face. In the helmet's visor is a reflection of Neil Armstrong, the American flag, and the lunar module. The coin's face value, "ONE DOLLAR," is inscribed in the upper left portion of the visor. Inscriptions on other parts of the helmet read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (From many, one).

Perfect PF70 FDI with Black Core Holder

This coin, which comes set in a sleek black core holder, received Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC's) highest grade, Proof 70. That means that it lacks even a single imperfection that is visible under 5x magnification. The piece was also certified First Day of Issue, a designation that is only given to coins that were submitted for grading through an exclusive process.
