Magnificently Detailed Designs

The obverse features the Legion's star insignia accompanied by oak leaves and a lily blossom, which represent strength, devotion and memory. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2019." The design is credited to Paul C. Balan and Renata Gordon.

The reverse imagery by Patricia Lucas-Morris and Michael Gaudioso depicts the crossed flags of the Legion and U.S., beneath a fleur-de-lis and an ornate arch. Inscriptions include "100 YEARS OF SERVICE," "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1919," "2019," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "P" and "$1."

The silver dollar is presented in a protective holder with a NGC certification label signed by retired U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti.
