Exceptional Commemorative Designs
Created by Paul C. Balan and Renata Gordon, the obverse is dominated by the American Legion's star emblem, accompanied by oak leaves and a lily, symbols known to represent strength, devotion and memory. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2019."
The reverse features the inscription "100 YEARS OF SERVICE" between a fleur-de-lis and the crossed flags of the American Legion and the U.S. The design by Patricia Lucas-Morris and Michael Gaudioso is additionally inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1919," "2019," "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "$1."

The proof is graded a virtually flawless Proof 69, with the additional certification of Deep Cameo (DCAM), for the coin's incredibly sharp contrast between the mirrored fields and the highly detailed frosted design elements. The proof is encapsulated in a PCGS holder, its label decorated with an American flag design.
