Why order this 2019-P 5 oz. Silver America the Beautiful War in the Pacific Specimen?
Since 2010, the America the Beautiful Series has taken collectors on a numismatic tour of many of America's national parks. This 48th issue in the series features War in the Pacific National Historical Park. It pays tribute to those who fought in the Pacific Theater during World War II. This piece was struck from 5 oz. of .999 fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint. Unlike the bullion version of the coin, it has a specimen finish and bears a "P" mint mark.
Moving Asan Bay Design by Joel Iskowitz
John Flanagan's left-side portrait of President George Washington features on the obverse, where it has remained since its debut on the quarter in 1932. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "QUARTER DOLLAR" are inscribed along the rim, while "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST" flank the effigy.
Soldiers storm the shore at Asan Bay on Joel Iskowitz's reverse, which was sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. The design is encircled by a rim frame on which there are four sets of inscriptions. "WAR IN THE PACIFIC" and "GUAM" are among them.
