Created by the Emily Damstra and Joseph Menna, the design includes the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "$1." Sacagawea is depicted on the obverse, as designed by Glenna Goodacre, accompanied by the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." The one dollar banknote features a serial number starting with "1959," which corresponds with the first launch date of the Agena spacecraft.
