Remembering a LegendIn 2020, the world mourned following the untimely death of Kobe Bryant. He tragically died in a plane crash with his daughter and seven others. Bryant was one of the best players in the history of basketball. In high school, he was a first-team Parade All-American, a first-team McDonald's All-American, and the Naismith Prep Player of the Year in 1996. He became just the sixth player to enter the NBA Draft directly out of high school. The Los Angeles Lakers picked Bryant thirteenth overall in 1996. He earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors in 1997 and soon became one of the best in the league. All told, Bryant was an 18-time NBA All-Star, 11-time All-NBA First Team, and 9-time NBA All-Defensive First Team. He won five championships, in two of which he was the Finals MVP. His success expanded beyond the NBA, as he was a member of Team USA at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. His team took gold in both.
