Kawhi "Klaw" Leonard

Today, we know Kawhi Leonard as a standout NBA player. Like many athletes who went on to the professional level, Leonard's potential became obvious during his high school years. He spent his first two years at Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley before transferring to Martin Luther King High School for his final two years. This was where he really started to draw attention. Leonard's performance during his senior year was so impressive that he was awarded the title of California Mr. Basketball.

Following Leonard's standout high school basketball career, he continued to grow as a player during college. He attended San Diego State University for 2 years. Both years he led the team to the NCAA tournament. After his sophomore season he declared his eligibility for the NBA draft. In 2011 Leonard was selected by the Indiana Pacers in the first round as 15th overall. The same day he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs and that is where he played through 2018.
