Why Order This GEM 2019 Great Britain Tower of London Crown Jewels Piedfort Silver Proof?
The Tower of London series of coins issued by Great Britain will have a total of 4 designs. The second design of the series is the Crown Jewels. The silver proof shown here was struck by the British Royal Mint, but this specimen is a piedfort so it's twice the weight and thickness of the standard version. A mintage limit of just 1,160 pieces has been set.
Historic Crown Jewels Design
The face value of 5 pounds is displayed on the obverse along with the date. The work of Jody Clark is featured here, this is the most recent coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
One of the intriguing things about the design on the reverse is that it has a tower Mint mark in the lower left portion. A piece from the Crown Jewels is depicted on this side, the Crown of Mary of Modena. The words "TOWER OF LONDON" are near the crown.
This silver proof piedfort has not been certified by a third-party service. Just like when it left the British Royal Mint, it's in GEM Proof condition. Each coin will arrive in Original Government Packaging along with a Certificate of Authenticity.
