Why purchase this 2-coin 2019 Proof Set from The Royal Mint's Silver Britannia series?
The Royal Mint continues its celebration of Queen Victoria's 200th Anniversary theme in the 2019 design of the Britannia proof series, featuring a modernized version of the 1839 Una and Lion coin. This set includes two 2019 Britannia coins, each struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver: one a traditional proof with a mintage limit of 5,200, and a reverse proof with a mintage limited to only 700. The reverse proof coin is available exclusively in Royal Mint sets.
Magnificent 2019 Britannia Design
The reverses feature David Lawrence's rendition of Britannia, bravely leading her lion guardian into battle with her trident, while the sun bursts behind stylized background clouds. Inscriptions include "BRITANNIA," "1 OZ," "FINE SILVER 999" and "2019."
The obverses depict the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as sculpted by Royal Mint Designer Jody Clark. Inscribed "ELIZABETH II," "D.G. REG. F.D." and "2 POUNDS."
