Stunning Yale of Beaufort Design by Jody Clark
Queen Elizabeth II wears her Royal Diamond Diadem at the center of Jody Clark's obverse. She is encircled by a pair of rim inscriptions. One offers the coin's face value, "5 POUNDS," while the other is her name and abbreviated Latin title, "ELIZABETH II D G REG F D" (Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith).
Clark also designed the reverse, where the Yale of Beaufort stands on its hind legs and balances a shield that bears the quarters of Lady Margaret Beaufort's arms and the golden portcullis of her son, Henry VII. The coin's name, "YALE OF BEAUFORT," joins "2 OZ FINE SILVER 999.9" and "2019" on the rim frame.
