Why purchase this 2019 Queen's Beast 2 oz. silver bullion coin?
The Falcon of the Plantagenets is featured on the sixth bullion release of The Royal Mint's ongoing Queen's Beasts series. The series is an homage to the genealogy of the Queen, inspired by the ten heraldic sculptures created by James Woodford for the 1953 coronation ceremony of Elizabeth II. The 38.61 diameter coin is struck from 2 oz. of .9999 fine silver.
Gorgeous Heraldic Imagery
A shield bearing the badge of Edward IV is featured on the reverse, gripped in the talons of a falcon. The image is surrounded by an intricate chain mail field and encircled with the inscriptions "FALCON OF THE PLANTAGENETS," "2 OZ FINE SILVER," "999.9" and "2019."
The obverse portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is surrounded by a delicately styled guilloche patterned field. Inscribed "ELIZABETH II, D.G. REG. F.D., 5 POUNDS." Each image includes the initials "JC," crediting the designs to Royal Mint Sculptor Jody Clark.
