Why order this $5 Fiji 2019 Eagle 5 oz Silver Ruthenium Plated Blackened Proof?
This Ruthenium Plated Eagle Proof is perfect for collectors looking to spruce up their collections with a coin with unique coloring. The coin is the latest in a trend of eagle-themed releases over the past few years. Issued by Fiji and struck from 5 oz of .999 fine silver at Commonwealth Mint, this coin features selective layering of black ruthenium that gives it a unique look. It is part of a mintage of just 999 pieces, all of which are exclusively available from MCM.
Powerful Eagle Designs by Joel Iskowitz
Former U.S Mint designer Joel Iskowitz designed both faces of this coin. On the obverse is a closeup look at the head of the bird, which faces left. To the left is the coat of arms of Fiji. "FIJI" and "2019" are inscribed along the rim at the top.
On the reverse is a depiction of the bird preparing to snatch its prey. It swoops down with its wings spread to balance it as its talons extend forward, preparing to pick up its victim. Rim inscriptions offer the coin's face value, "FIVE DOLLARS," and its weight and purity, ".999 AG 5 OZ."
Virtually Flawless PF69 with Black Core Holder
This coin is in perfect condition as seen by the naked eye according to the experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), who graded it Proof 69. The coin comes set in a black core holder that complements the coin nicely.
