An NBA Star in the MakingDonovan Mitchell went to Louisville, where he emerged as a star. He started just five games as a freshman but averaged 19.1 minutes over the 31 games in which he played. He became a starter in his sophomore year, coming off the bench in just one of the 34 games he played. In Mitchell's sophomore year, he scored 15.6 points per game and added 4.9 boards, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 steals on average. His efforts earned him first-team All-ACC selection. Following Mitchell's sophomore year, he entered the 2017 NBA Draft. Mitchell was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round, but Denver quickly traded him to Utah. As a rookie, he earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team and won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. He is a 3-time All Star and is considered among the best players in the league. He has bested his impressive averages of 34.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game during the regular season by averaging 28.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game in the playoffs.
