Why buy this 2019 ¥10 China 70th Anniversary Sino-Russian Diplomatic Relations Silver Proof
On October 3, 1949, the People's Republic of China and Russia established official diplomatic relations. In 2019, the two countries are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the event. This Silver Proof is one of two Chinese releases to mark the occasion. It was struck on a 30 g planchet of .999 fine silver and is part of a mintage of just 10,000 pieces.
Adorable Two Pandas Design
The proof's obverse features the official emblem of the People's Republic of China. Five stars, four small ones and one large, are arranged over the Tiananmen Gate of the Forbidden City. The four small stars represent the classes under Maoism, while the fifth represents the Communist Party. The name of the issuing country is inscribed in Chinese characters above, while the date is included below.
On the reverse, two pandas are arm in arm against a backdrop of Chinese Knotting and a Russian Matryoshka doll. "70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Russia" is inscribed in Chinese and Russian at the top. Just below are the anniversary dates, "1949-2019." The coin's face value is provided to the left.
