Why buy this $5 Canadian 2019 1 oz Incused Silver Maple Leaf?
The Royal Canadian Mint celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Silver Maple Leaf with the first ever bullion incuse version of the coin in 2018. Collectors loved the coin, which features a unique look at the iconic design of Canada's most recognizable symbol. So popular was the new coin that it now returns for its second year of production. This piece was struck on a 1 oz planchet of .9999 fine silver at the Royal Canadian Mint. Both faces bear radial lines, which were added to the original series in 2014 as security features. This coin is perfect for collectors hoping to take a new look at a modern classic.
Iconic Maple Leaf Design
Susanna Blunt's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II returns to the obverse of the series. Blunt depicts the monarch wearing earrings and a necklace, but she notably does not wear a crown or tiara. Her shoulders are open to the holder. Her name, "ELIZABETH II," arches over her image, while the coin's face value and date, "5 DOLLARS 2019," are inscribed below it.
The reverse bears a large maple leaf. Simple in concept, yet elaborate in its execution, with each detail rendered realistically, the design has enamored collectors for decades. It is joined by a privy maple leaf in which there is an inscription of the final two digits of the date, "19." Other inscriptions on this face read, "CANADA," "FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR," and "9999," the coin's purity, which is to the left and right of the design.
Perfect MS70 First Day of Production with Black Core Holder and 40th Anniversary Gold Maple Leaf Label
