The fabled Austrian Mint presents the 2019 Austria 825th Anniversary of the Austrian Mint - Wiener Neustadt 1 oz Silver €1.50 coin in excellent GEM BU condition. This issue was struck on 1 oz. .999 pure silver planchets. It is the second legal tender issue in a set of three that marks the 825th Anniversary of the Austrian Mint. The issue has a mintage of 100,000 coins.

Origins of the Austrian Mint

The obverse of the coin shows a crusader from Duke Leopold V's time. This image has a horse rider with military trappings. The reverse of the coin features the city of Wiener Neustadt, a fortified medieval garrison town located South from Vienna. This historic town was built from some of the same silver that Duke Leopold V used to strike coins at the founding of the Austrian Mint in 1194.
