Buzz Aldrin on the Moon
The date and mint mark are displayed on the obverse. The design on this side shows an incredibly detailed depiction of a footprint on the surface of the Moon. This side is inscribed with the names of several NASA programs, "MERCURY," "GEMINI," and "APOLLO."
On the reverse, a scene on the Moon is shown within the border of an astronaut's helmet. The helmet belongs to Buzz Aldrin, this design is based on the photo "Buzz Aldrin on the Moon."
NGC PF70 Early Releases
The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) was chosen to certify this commemorative. It was awarded the grade of Proof 70 and the Early Releases designation. That means this specimen is free of flaws and it was submitted during its first 30 days of issue. The coin comes in a visually striking Moon Core and is accompanied by a reproduction of the patch worn by the Apollo 11 crew.
