Why add the 2019 Allegories Germania & Columbia 2 oz Silver Medal NGC MS70 FR to your collection?
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this 2019 Allegories Germania & Columbia 2 oz. Silver Medal at the unequaled Mint State 70 (MS70) level. It qualified as a First Releases (FR) example. This silver medal was struck at the world famous Germania Mint on a .9999 pure silver planchet weighing 2 oz. It has a low mintage of 25,000 units to satisfy worldwide demand.
It should be noted that while these medals do have a 5 mark denomination, this is aesthetic only and holds no legal tender.
The obverse image used on this issue is the two allegorical female depictions of Germany and the United States: Germania and Columbia. Columbia is shown wearing a modern-day dress, "strappy" heels, and with flowing hair. Germania is shown as she traditionally appears with an armored bodice, flowing hair, and a highly detailed flag which features a German two-headed eagle. Both figures carry a flag emblematic of the nations they represent. The reverse image used on this issue is a Coat of Arms featuring a boar and double-headed eagle. The shield is encircled by an oak wreath.
Mint State 70 coins are found to be flawless when examined under magnification. They have blemish and friction-free surfaces, exceptional appearance and broad collector appeal. This example features the First Releases designation which is sought after by collectors. This designation is reserved for items graded within 30 days of release.
