Powerful Ulysses S. Grant Design
The note's obverse features a portrait of President Ulysses S. Grant. He faces slightly to the holder's right, and his effigy is set against a pale rendering of the American flag. The seals of the Federal Reserve and the US Treasury are set to the left and right, and the note's face value appears in each corner. Its serial number also appears in the upper left and lower right.
