Why buy this ATB 2019 25C 5 oz. Silver (Guam) War in the Pacific National Historic Park?

The America the Beautiful Silver Series has taken collectors on a numismatic tour of America's national parks for nearly a decade. Perhaps none, though, is more poignant than this War in the Pacific National Historic Park edition, which is Guam's entry in the collection. The coin honors thee sacrifices of America's brave men who fought in the Pacific during World War II. The coin was struck from 5 oz of .999 fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint.

Powerful Asan Bay Design by Joel Iskowitz

The coin's obverse features the design that is common to the entire series, as well as all other American quarters since 1932, John Flanagan's portrait of President George Washington. The left-side effigy is flanked by the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," while "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "QUARTER DOLLAR" are inscribed above and below it, respectively.

Joel Iskowitz designed and Michael Gaudioso sculpted the reverse, on which American troops are landing at Asan Bay. These troops would eventually liberate Guam in a key victory for the United States. The design is encircled by a rim frame in which there are four inscriptions. They include the date, "2019," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "GUAM," and "WAR IN THE PACIFIC."
