Why purchase this Silver 2018-W Proof American Eagle?
Fans of the world's favorite bullion series will also love this 2018-W Silver American Eagle Proof, which offers the same designs with a stunning proof finish. Like its bullion counterpart, this coin was struck from 1 oz of .999 fine silver. Unlike its bullion counterpart, it bears the "W" Mint mark of the West Point Mint.
Stunning Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman
The coin's obverse features Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty design, which debuted on the half dollar in 1916. The image features Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and draped in the American flag. She carries branches as she extends her right hand above the morning sun.
John Mercanti modeled the reverse design, which he created specifically for this series, after the Great Seal of the United States. The image consists of thirteen stars above the head of an eagle, which guards a union shield. In its beak, the bird holds a ribbon that bears the words "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (From many, one).
Virtually Flawless PF69 UC FR with Black Core Holder
The experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) found only a minuscule imperfection or two on this coin, so they gave it their second highest grade, Proof 69. NGC also certified the piece as an Ultra Cameo (UC), thus indicating that its frosted devices and mirrored fields contrast particularly strongly. The coin has been set in a Black Core Holder.
