Why Make This MS70 First Releases 2018-W Burnished Silver Eagle with a West Point Gold Star Label the Next Addition to Your Collection?
When the American Silver Eagle was offered for the first time in 1986, it was available with either a proof finish or a brilliant uncirculated finish. This changed in 2006 with the addition of burnished and Reverse Proof finishes. This 2018-W Silver Eagle has a Burnished finish. It has the same silver content as its standard bullion counterpart.
Detailed American Designs by Weinman and Mercanti
The obverse features a classic Liberty design originally created by Adolph A. Weinman. This design is known as Walking Liberty. Liberty is shown in stride as she carries a bundle of oak and laurel branches.
The design on the reverse is the work of John Mercanti. The central portion shows a bald eagle holding a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. The "W" Mint mark is near the olive branch.
