Why Make This MS70 Early Releases 2018-W Burnished Silver Eagle with a Black Core Slab and an Exclusive Silver Foil Label the Next Addition to Your Collection?
When the American Silver Eagle series began in 1986 there were only 2 finishes available, Proof and brilliant uncirculated. Today, a variety of finishes have been made available, including the Burnished finish. This Burnished Silver Eagle was struck at the West Point Mint in 2018. It has the same silver content as other coins of the series.
American Icons Depicted by Weinman and Mercanti
The Silver Eagle is a modern coin, but the obverse actually features a classic design by Adolph A. Weinman. This work of art is known as Walking Liberty. The date can be seen at the bottom of the design as Liberty makes her way forward with one arm extended.
The reverse is where the "W" Mint mark can be found. The heraldic bald eagle design shown here is the work of John Mercanti.
