Beautiful Numismatic Design Heritage
The obverse design is Adolph A. Weinman's Walking Liberty image from the half dollar that was struck in the U.S. from 1916-1947. Liberty is walking with her arm outstretched, holding laurel and oak branches, wrapped in the Stars and Stripes. The reverse features a heraldic bald eagle behind the Union Shield. John M. Mercanti, the prolific designer from the U.S. Mint is responsible for the design.
