Why purchase this GEM Brilliant Uncirculated 2018-W Burnished release of the American Silver Eagle?
The U.S. Mint's American Silver Eagle coin represents a continuous celebration of the exquisite beauty of sculptor Adolph A. Weinman's 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Introduced in 1986, the coin is regularly minted in three unique versions: bullion, proof and burnished (uncirculated). Produced at the West Point branch of the Mint, this gorgeous 40.6 mm diameter 2018 American Silver Eagle is struck from a specially burnished 1 Troy oz. .999 fine silver blank, and features the "W" Mint mark on the reverse.
Magnificent Walking Liberty Design
The obverse depicts Weinman's elegant vision of Lady Liberty walking toward the rising sun enveloped in the flag of the United States, while carrying a bouquet of oak and laurel. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2018" and "IN GOD WE TRUST."
The reverse, by John Mercanti, features a design inspired by the Great Seal of the United States, depicting a heraldic eagle grasping an olive branch and arrows, with thirteen stars above.
