Beautiful and Timeless Imagery

The obverse was designed by American artist, Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This image of Liberty was originally featured on the circulated $20 gold coin issued from 1907 until 1933. Liberty walks forward with confidence as she carries the Torch of Enlightenment overhead. She also carries an olive branch. The reverse design was original to the Gold Eagle series and was brought to fruition by US Mint engraver Miley Busiek. The dynamic image features a bald eagle flying over his mate and nest.
