Why Make This PF69 UC Early Releases 2018-W $10 Proof Gold Eagle the Next Addition to Your Collection?

The American Gold Eagle series of coins made its debut in 1986, they are popular with both collectors and stackers. While proofs have always been offered, they weren't available in all 4 sizes until 1988. This 1/4 oz. Proof Gold Eagle was struck at the West Point branch of the U.S. Mint in 2018. It has a face value of $10 and is made of 22 karat gold.

Saint-Gaudens Liberty Design

The obverse shows a highly detailed Liberty design. A border of stars is at the edge as Liberty holds her torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. This design was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in the early 1900s.

The reverse is inscribed with the gold weight and face value. The impressive bald eagle design here is the work of Miley Busiek. An entire family of bald eagles is depicted.

Certified PF69 UC Early Releases

This proof Gold Eagle received the Early Releases designation for being submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation during its initial 30 days of issue. It received the grade of Proof 69 (PF69) for its almost perfect condition and the Ultra Cameo (UC) designation for its impressive visual contrast.
