The distinguished image of George Washington adorns the obverse. Sculpted by John Flanagan in 1932, the design includes the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "QUARTER DOLLAR," with ".999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE" on the coin's smooth edge.
