Why Choose This GEM 2018 South Africa 1 oz. Proof Silver Krugerrand?
The very first Gold Krugerrand coins were struck in 1967. This series is widely known around the world. However, the Krugerrand shown here is made of .999 fine silver. This is a 2018 coin, the second issue of this series after the Silver Krugerrand was offered for the first time in 2017. This 2018 Silver Krugerrand has a proof finish, it was struck by the South African Mint. Mintage of this coin was limited to just 15,000 pieces.
Exquisite South African Obverse and Reverse Designs
The obverse is inscribed with "SOUTH AFRICA" in English and Afrikaans. This side depicts Paul Kruger, whom these coins are named after. Kruger served as the first President of South Africa. His portrait features a high level of detail.
The design on the reverse shows a springbok. The springbok is a species of antelope and the national animal of South Africa. The date is split to the left and right of the springbok. The inscriptions on this side also state the silver content.
