Why purchase this specially labeled 2018-S Proof American Silver Eagle?
The American Silver Eagle, the official silver bullion coin of the U.S., has been an annual product of the U.S. Mint since 1986. This 2018 dated proof was struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver at the San Francisco Mint.
Historic Lady Liberty Design
The obverse revives Adolph A. Weinman's classic 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar design, featuring a gorgeous Lady Liberty gracefully draped in the flag of the United States walking towards the rising sun. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2018" and "IN GOD WE TRUST."
The reverse illustrates a bald eagle grasping an olive branch and arrows with thirteen stars above, designed by John Mercanti. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR," "S" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
Flawless First Day of Issue Proof 70 with Philadelphia ANA Label
This 2018-S American Silver Eagle Proof is determined by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) to be in Proof 70 Ultra Cameo (UC) condition, possessing a perfect strike with a high degree of contrast between finishes. The coin received the First Day of Issue designation for submission to the grading service within twenty-four hours of its August 14, 2018 release date, coincidentally the opening day of the American Numismatic Association's (ANA) World's Fair of Money in Philadelphia. The silver dollar is encapsulated in a NGC protective holder accompanied by a commemorative Philadelphia ANA certification label.
